Cayman National Gallery Scholarship & Internship
Deutsche Bank, in partnership with the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, provides a scholarship to local students wishing to pursue a career in the visual arts.
The four-year scholarship forms part of the collaboration between Deutsche Bank and the National Gallery and will assist local students with the funding of their visual arts education overseas. The student will also aim to pursue a career in the visual arts in the Cayman Islands post-graduation. It is intended that, through the graduates, the visual arts will continue to develop on the Islands.
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to either Caymanian students or students legally resident in the Cayman Islands who have been accepted by colleges or universities that are approved by the Education Council of the Cayman Islands Government. Applicants must also be between 17 and 25 years of age at the date of the application deadline.
Since 2003, an annual internship at the National Gallery, also sponsored by Deutsche Bank, has given young local arts enthusiasts the opportunity to learn more about working in the arts and has helped Caymanian students pursue careers in a broad range of arts and creative sectors.
The National Gallery is primarily an educational non-profit organisation. By offering an average of eight local and international art exhibitions per year, in addition to numerous programmes, artist workshops, lectures and annual events, the National Gallery continues to focus on the development and success of artists in the Cayman Islands.
